The Edwards Signaling 449 is a weatherproof surface-mount backbox designed for mounting compatible Edwards signaling appliances in outdoor or exposed environments. Constructed from durable die-cast aluminum, the enclosure provides mechanical protection and environmental sealing for fire alarm notification devices such as bells and strobes.
The backbox includes a molded neoprene gasket that helps maintain a weather-resistant seal between the mounted signaling device and the enclosure. It features multiple 3/4 inch tapped conduit entries to allow flexible wiring access from the top, back, or bottom of the box during installation.
Finished with a baked “Sage Gray” enamel coating, the box provides corrosion resistance and durability for outdoor applications. The 449 backbox is specifically designed to support several Edwards bell and strobe models and is UL listed for outdoor use when installed with compatible devices.
